About El Ventorro

When I introduce El Ventorro, I usually start by mentioning its easy-to-find location on Av de Mariano Vicén, 33, right in the heart of Soria, because that central spot already sets expectations for a place that feels woven into everyday local life rather than tucked away for tourists only. El Ventorro has the kind of relaxed restaurant vibe that makes you want to slow down, whether you are stopping by for a quick bite between errands or planning a longer meal where conversation matters just as much as the food. From the moment you step in, it feels welcoming and unpretentious, and that tone carries through the service, which is attentive without being overbearing and flexible enough to suit different moods and schedules. Outdoor seating is a big plus here, especially on mild days when sitting outside adds an extra layer of comfort, but dine-in options are just as appealing for anyone who prefers a more traditional table setting. I also like that El Ventorro offers delivery, because it shows they understand modern dining habits and want to be part of people’s routines, not just their special occasions. The menu leans into variety, making it easy to tailor your visit, with options ranging from healthy choices to small plates that encourage sharing and tasting a little of everything. Drinks are clearly taken seriously too, with a well-rounded selection that includes beer, wine, cocktails, spirits, and coffee, so whether you are meeting friends in the evening or easing into the afternoon, there is always something that fits the moment. For gatherings that need a bit more privacy, the private dining room adds another dimension, making El Ventorro suitable for both casual drop-ins and more planned get-togethers. What really stands out, though, is how naturally all these elements come together, creating a restaurant experience that feels balanced, approachable, and genuinely connected to its surroundings.

Stopped in Soria for lunch on the way to Monasterio de Piedra. El Ventorro was a friendly place despite the language barrier and had a nice selection of fish and meat dishes available.

Delicious fresh seafood and well prepared salads. Nice wine, nice atmosphere, friendly waiters. A definite step up from the more tourist oriented places in the old town.

We arrived in Soria on a public holiday so all the restaurants were busy and many of them just seemed uninterested in serving potential customers. We walked a few minutes from the centre to El Ventorro and got a completely different reception. They set up one of the bar tables for eating and brought menus quickly, despite being very busy already. We didn't want a huge lunch so we just ordered "arroz molleloso con carabineros" and it was excellent. Good selection of wines by the glass and lots of the other menu items we saw looked delicious. I can't emphasise enough how good the service was. The waiter didn't speak much English and our Spanish is terrible but with a bit of willingness on both sides it worked and we had a great lunch.

Good food, good service, fair price for everything. A very Spanish style fine dine place with all choices from the sea to the mountain. I believe it is one of the top place in town.

We stopped by this restaurant for dinner on a Saturday, and they found us a table for two. The service was fantastic—our waiter was incredibly friendly and attentive. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, and we were blown away by the rabo de toro (oxtail in red wine). The meat was tender, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Portions are generous; we ordered some starters and found that even half portions were more than enough. The atmosphere was lively, with lots of people at the bar, adding to the vibrant vibe.

The service at this place is impeccable - even though it was a busy holiday and they were swamped, they made space for people and even though their English wasn't the best - lord knows our Spanish is no better! - they were very keen to make sure we understood and our orders ended up correct. The food was excellent - the sticky rice with seafood is fantastic! Wine selections were on point, and everything was great value.

Amazing food and great service! Everything was fresh and delicious. On top of that, portions were generous! Reasonably priced (food was way superior (and cost half) compared to the restaurant we went in Madrid the day before. The only “problem” was that we ate too much and didn’t have enough room for dessert! The list looked fabulous tough. Next time!
